5 reasons why autumn is the best season to enjoy a weekend in Dolomiti Paganella
Wednesday 1 September 2021
The arrival of autumn reawakens our longing for a warm blanket, hot tea, and relaxing on a sofa in front of an open fire. But not so quick! This is the season when nature is most generous with its colours, panoramas, and golden sunshine that lends the landscape a fairy-tale look. Whether you are still in the holiday mood, or you just fancy a break from frantic everyday life, autumn is the ideal season to visit Dolomiti Paganella in Trentino. Why? We can give you a few good reasons …
#1 The Bike season continues until the long weekend at the start of November
In Dolomiti Paganella there is no way we are going to hang up our bikes yet, and this is why we have the longest season in the entire Alpine chain! The Dolomiti Paganella Bike Area lift facilities and trails are open every weekend until November 1: wild landscapes, autumn colours, and thrills await you there!
#2 Sunday lunch tastes better up in the mountains
Polenta, wild mushrooms, and game: come and experience the flavours of autumn and the traditional recipes in our mountain huts which, taking advantage of the lifts running right through autumn, will remain open to welcome hikers, bikers, and those who prefer to travel by chairlift!
#3 With water this blue, you won't even miss summer
A turquoise gem set between the Dolomite peaks, it is no accident that Lago di Molveno has been adjudicated the most beautiful lake in Italy for six years in a row! Our advice is to follow what the locals do and enjoy the lake during the times when it is least busy: with the beaches and paths all to yourself it will feel like paradise.
#4 The autumn leaves will amaze you
In the United States they call it "leaf peeping", travelling with the purpose of seeing and photographing the changing colours of the foliage. The woods of Fai della Paganella, with their countless autumn shades and numerous viewpoints over the Valle dell’Adige, are an ideal destination for this. Prepare yourselves with robust walking shoes, a pullover, a flask of hot coffee, and you are ready to go!
#5 A gastronomic weekend to look forward to
Visit wine cellars, explore one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and meet local food and wine makers: Dolomiti Paganella offers an ideal opportunity for those interested in a relaxed weekend dedicated to good food and excellent wine. Don't miss the weekend of 1 November for the Sagra della Ciuìga ("Ciuìga Festival") dedicated to our famous 0 km salami and a Slow Food presidium.
