Dire Straits tribute
ENCORE, a Veronese tribute to Dire Straits and their guitarist, singer and songwriter Mark Knopfler, was born at the end of 2014 from an idea by Vittorio Boseggia, Simone Vignola and Nicola Pepe, who have always been profound admirers of the British band that garnered countless hits in the 1980s.
We are the Sultans of Swing
They set out to reproduce as faithfully as possible the atmospheres that characterised the songs of Dire Straits and the particular guitar technique of their leader. The emotions that ENCORE want to propose are characterised not only by the energy of the best-known Dire Straits hits, but also by the search for the utmost care in dynamics, typical of Mark Knopfler's most recent and evolved musical production.
They offer a vast repertoire that ranges from the early, decisive and instinctive sounds of the first years of production, with songs such as "Sultans of Swing", "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Lady Writer", to more well-known hits such as "Walk of Life", "Romeo & Juliet", "Tunnel of Love", "Money for Nothing", "Brothers in Arms", "Telegraph Road", and finally also picking up small masterpieces generated by Mark Knopfler's new creative vein such as "What it Is" and "Speedway at Nazareth".
