"AVE MARIA" - Prayer in opera
A homage with a religious theme to Italian opera singing proclaimed a World Heritage Site last December, in memory of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini one hundred years after his death.
The concert will feature pieces from the sacred repertoire, but in particular pieces of different musical origins (ancient arias, opera arias, lied...) - all "prayers" to the Virgin Mary: Schubert's famous Ave Maria, which is part of the German composer's well-known lieder, Gounod's Ave Maria to the music of Bach, G. Verdi's Ave Maria from the opera Otello, SanctaMaria on the theme of Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, and then Vierge Marie from the 20th-century French opera repertoire.
