A Dolomite gem
“A TASTY DISH”: “En gnòch e na patata”, an old local Molveno dish made with flour, boiled potatoes,
melted butter, onions, and bacon.
“OUR RECOMMENDATION”: The hut is reached along an impressive panoramic footpath cut into the rock,
suitable for all walkers, young and old.
“PERFECT FOR …”: A strategic starting point for dedicated mountain walkers and an ideal rest point
surrounded by a splendid array of Dolomite peaks.
The hut was built in 1962 by the Spellini family and is in Val delle Seghe at 1480 m in altitude. It can be reached with a pleasant walk of just over an hour from the Pradel area leading into the heart of the Brenta Dolomites. The imposing rock walls surround you along the journey in a breath-taking spectacle. For e-bike enthusiasts, the hut can be reached by following forest road number 319 that starts directly from Molveno village in the Ciclamino area.
The hut is comfortable and welcoming in the classic Trentino Alpine style, just like the cooking, which offers a traditional menu based on local products. Bread dumplings, tagliatelle with wild game ragù sauce, polenta, wild mushrooms, and melted cheese are just a few of the delicious creations of the chef, Nicola.
Naturally, for the sweet toothed there are plenty of cakes, all strictly home-made, along with our apple strudel, a true delicacy!
Finally, for those looking for an unusual evening, it is possible to have dinner and even sleep in the hut. The hut has 18 beds and is ideal for hikers who want to get an early start to explore the Brenta Dolomites, and for anyone who wants to fully appreciate all the beauties the area has to offer, like a starry sky far from the lights of the town, or the gorgeous lighting effects at dawn when the mountain tops are tinted red and gold.
The hut is open in summer, roughly from June to October. We recommend contacting them directly to check the exact opening dates.
