Cima Tosa

On top of the Brenta Dolomites

This ascent begins with a hike in the shade of pine forests, then ascends high Alpine meadows to finally reach the spectacular Dolomite rock landscape carved over the millennia by glaciers in the rarefied mountain air.

At 3173 metres the Cima Tosa massif is the highest summit in the Brenta group and was first climbed by G. Loss and companions on 20 July 1865. Over recent decades the rise in temperatures has modified the summit and what was once an ice-field has given way to rock.

It is possible to ascend the Via Migotti in Val d’Ambiez, and then descend the Via Normale in a single day, or by staying overnight at the Rifugio Agostini hut. This is an excursion requiring a good level of fitness.

From the expert's mouth

“An unforgettable two-day experience, guided along paths and rock faces leading to the summit, while exploring the history and nature of our Dolomitic mountain heritage." - Claudio Kerschbaumer

For your safety

Take your face mask with you! You will need to use it whenever maintaining social distancing is impossible (meeting points, inside mountain huts, uplift systems, greeting people, etc.).

Claudio will have the job of ensuring all participants keep a safe distance, but your collaboration and attention is also important.

Any equipment or items used will be sanitized after every use.

Who organizes

My name is Claudio Kerschbaumer and I have made dozens of ascents right across the Alpine chain, many of them solo. In 1991 I rode 15000 km by bicycle from Alaska to Patagonia, climbing the highest peaks along the way in each state I travelled through. I ended up in Dolomiti Paganella where today I work as an Alpine Guide and help our visitors discover this wonderful little corner of the world.
