For those who want a bit of adventure on their holidays.
Go on, try it! Feel free as you glide in the blue sky overlooking Lake Molveno surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, these two activities, para-gliding and hang-gliding, will make you feel as if you can touch the sky with your fingers.
Fly from the top of a mountain to the ground without the help of an engine just with the wind: a 20-minute flight where you can experience the same thrill as that of the many times champion in this sport Luca Donini.
If you want to experience the exhilaration of flying in tandem, where the fun doesn't halve but doubles, there is the option to fly a two-seater paraglide.
Near Molveno there are three take-off points:
- About 1,000 m above the village of Molveno which can be reached on foot or by car from the village. Take the road to the right of the ski lift car park and continue on for 200 m. After parking continue on foot for 4-5 minutes.
- Località Deft, 1,090 m: walk for approximately 15 mins from the take-off point above Molveno or from the high part of the town, about 10-12 minutes.
- Località Montanara, 1,400 m: this take-off point can be reached by the ski lifts from the town centre. Get off at the second stop and proceed downwards towards the lake for 5 mins until you see the take-off point. The climate makes this area perfect for flying. You can fly over the lake and the village or go as high as 2,500 m.
The landing area is along the shores of Lake Molveno, a short distance from the car park and marked by a windsock.
We recommend that only experienced pilots try hang-gliding: take-off is at the Rifugio La Montanara and the official landing area is rather short.
