Visit a mountain farm with cows in the meadows and marmots
“A TASTY DISH”: Polenta, beef stew, and stringy melted cheese.
“OUR RECOMMENDATION”: If you are lucky you might meet some timid marmots or even chamois along
the way.
“PERFECT FOR …”: Those who love mountain wilderness and peaceful locations.
Malga Malga Spora is in the tranquil heart of the Brenta Dolomites on an isolated Alpine meadow. It can be reached from Andalo in about 4 hours' walk on footpath number 301, which winds through conifer forests and green meadows. It is one of the few mountain farms in Trentino without vehicle access, making it the ideal excursion for those who love uncontaminated places and holidays in nature. If you are lucky you might come across marmots and even chamois along the path.
The guardian, Massimo, and his daughter, Emily, prepare traditional food, and their tasty offerings include polenta, cold meats, and a variety of cakes prepared with fresh butter from the Malga. In summer the surrounding meadows are home to some placid cows who munch away on the grass enjoying the warm sunshine. The Malga produces fresh cheese and butter each day following traditional methods. You can also sleep there overnight.
The Malga is open in summer, roughly from the end of June to mid September. We recommend contacting them directly to check the exact opening dates.
