The mountain hut half way between Andalo and Cima Paganella
A dish you ought to try: venison ribs in blackberry sauce with celeriac puree and mound of Storo polenta
Our recommendation: top class skiing requires a good charge of energy and what could be better than a ricotta cheese-cake with raspberries?
Perfect for: an aperitif with a view on the sofas of the new panoramic terrace
This traditional mountain hut provides a view of the Brenta Dolomites from our large outdoor terrace. The hut is sited very close to the Paganella 2 cable car station and so can be visited on foot. It can also be reached in about 15 minutes along an easy level path.
Outside in the warm sunshine we meet Stefano, the guardian who has been welcoming people to the hut since 1984 with his enthusiasm, kindness, and beaming smile.
One set of hands in the kitchen was not enough and so this hut has two cooks: Diego and Fernando, one from Trentino and the other originally from Veneto but Trentino in heart. Together they conceive and create the menu of the week based on local and national Italian dishes, with special attention to hot and hearty first dishes like soups and broths. This means that each time you visit the hut you find different tasty traditional dishes based on fresh local ingredients.
Imagine a room with the scent of spruce pine wood, the warmth of a fireplace, and the essence of good Trentino food: this is exactly what you find at Paganella 2.
The hut is open every day in summer and winter during the ski lift running times. They also serve Trentino cooking for celiacs using special varieties of flour.
