Where to enjoy the most magical Christmas atmosphere in Dolomiti Paganella
Monday 21 November 2022
Snow, lights, trees, the aroma of cinnamon and mulled wine in the streets: the period running up to Christmas is as enchanting as the day itself. In Dolomiti Paganella the anticipation for the festivities is particularly sweet, with plenty of events and initiatives all over the Alpine plateau!
Here are some of the most inviting locations for breathing in the Christmas spirit in December.
#1 ON THE SHORES OF LAKE MOLVENO WITH SKATES ON your FEET
During the holidays, few things are better than ice skating with family, friends or your significant other. Especially if the skating rink is located on the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy and is illuminated by Christmas string lights | Open from December to March, from 10am to 11pm.
#2 In a mountain hut
Outside the stillness of winter, inside the scent of Swiss pine and spruce with the warmth of an open fire: our mountain huts are more than just somewhere to rest between one ski descent and the next. They are also the perfect setting for a few hour's relaxation before getting back to the quest for the last few Christmas gifts.
#3 In the valley of wine
The Piana Rotaliana is not just a land of outstanding wines. In Faedo, a village famous for its nativity scenes, and Mezzolombardo with its charming Christmas market at the castle, the cold winter air is warmed by the magic of Christmas! Of course, since you are here anyway, why not try a wine experience and buy a bottle to put under the Christmas tree?
#4 Wandering through the nativity scenes
In December Dolomiti Paganella becomes a genuine open air museum. Wandering around their streets you can peruse the numerous nativity scenes created with great care and affection by local families and associations. The route will lead you to some of the most charming corners of our mountain plateau. Ask for a route map at the Tourist Office to be sure not to miss a single one!
#5 At the Trento Christmas Markets
Dolomiti Paganella is just 30 kilometres from the capital of Trentino, the city with the best-known Christmas markets of all. After a morning on the Paganella ski runs, the ideal way to round off your day is a traditional local snack of mulled wine and roast potatoes among the famous and greatly loved wooden market stalls.
