An enjoyable afternoon among animals on Alpine pastures
“A TASTY DISH”: The dish of the Malga, delicious home produced eggs with crispy bacon, grilled Malga cheese, and sautéed potatoes.
“OUR RECOMMENDATION”: For children who are curious to learn the art of cheese making, the Malga organizes amusing didactic workshops.
“PERFECT FOR …”: Families and children who want to experience life on a mountain farm and taste fresh Alpine products.
Malga Malga Fai is at an altitude of around 1650 m and can be reached from Fai della Paganella with the Santel – Meriz cable-car followed by a walk along forestry road number F10, which leads directly there. The road is in ascent but not particularly demanding, making it suitable for families with children. Your efforts will be well rewarded by the guardian, Ivan, who welcomes you with tasty traditional Trentino dishes, ideal for restoring your energy. There is a wide choice ranging through polenta, beef stew, carne salada salted meat, home-made cheeses, ricotta, yogurt, and traditional strudel made with local apples.
Younger children will enjoy meeting the pasturing animals on the didactic farm. There are cows, sheep, chickens, goats, rabbits, and piglets, all ready to pass a playful afternoon with you. Cheese making workshops are also organized to learn the finer arts of dairy farming.
And before you set off for home, you might want to take some mountain savours with you, by purchasing Malga products like fresh cheeses or home-made salamis.
The Malga is open in summer, roughly from June to September. We recommend contacting them directly to check the exact opening dates.
