Where milk becomes art
“A TASTY DISH”: We use our own raw milk to produce fresh, fragrant cheeses made with milk straight from the cow to capture all the rich aromas of the Alpine meadows and mountain herbs.
“OUR RECOMMENDATION”: Do not miss the fun activities organized for younger children, when you can go hiking with donkeys, take part in a dairy workshop, and lots more!
“PERFECT FOR …”: Families with children who want to spend a day immersed in nature.
The Malga has been managed since 2016 by the dairy farmer Leonardo, his partner Barbara, and their daughters, Margherita, Silvia, and Matilde. It is in the Pradel area, which can be reached from Molveno with the cable car followed by a short walk of about 15 minutes.
The building and furniture is in the old mountain farm tradition, simple but functional and friendly. The kitchen will delight you with fresh milk and home-made cheeses, together with cold meat cuts and traditional local dishes prepared with zero kilometre agricultural products. Leonardo and Barbara also have a farm, the Maso Pisoni, that promotes the development of sustainable agriculture with special attention to protecting local biodiversity and animal wellbeing.
Malga Tovre is also a didactic farm with numerous workshops for young children organized over the summer months. The activities include taking an active part in cheese-making workshops, hiking with donkeys, and the "Early Morning at the Malga" experience, when Leonardo helps children become dairy farmers. They milk the cows, make cheese, and finally enjoy a well-earned breakfast prepared with fresh products made at the Malga.
The Malga is open in summer, roughly from June to September. We recommend contacting them directly to check the exact opening dates.
