Summer with children on the Altopiano della Paganella

Summer with children on the Altopiano della Paganella
Tuesday 11 June 2024

In Dolomiti Paganella we have been working hard to arrange daily walks, workshops, visits, lessons, and experiences in nature designed for children.
Here are some of our favourites.

MOUNTAIN FARMS

Take the lamas out on their daily walk, feed the baby goats, or hand process milk to prepare cheese curds together with our mountain farmers. In our didactic farms you can experience authentic mountain life.

BABY FOREST BATHING

Get closer to nature in the old beech woods of our Breathing Park. We chose this name because breathing here has been shown to enhance the body's immune system.

You can put on wireless headphones together with your children to hear short fables and legends. All your senses will be stimulated collecting materials from the forest floor and walking barefoot along a route of wooden trunks, hay, gravel, and tree bark.

A WALK IN THE WWF OASIS

Marco is a farmer dedicated to ecology and local history, and he is happy to accompany you through the countryside and woods of Maso Fratton.

With his expert eye you can try to spot traces left by local bears. Marco can answer all your children's questions: what bears eat, where they sleep, how far they roam. This is a good opportunity to learn together how to respect these animals and how to behave if you encounter a bear.

PLANT A TREE AND GET TO KNOW THE FOREST

A walk combined with narratives and interactive activities suitable for the whole family, learning how to help conserve the mountain environment.

Alessandro Marsilli is an expert naturalist and your guide along a forest nature trail, explaining climate change and sustainability.
At the end of the walk the children plant a spruce tree, helping to safeguard our natural home.

LIVING IN COLOUR

The children follow Sara, our expert naturopath, through a forest landscape, learning to recognize wild therapeutic herbs while collecting flowers, leaves, and stones along the way.

Next comes the magic moment, when they use wooden mallets to imprint their collection on a personalized T-shirt or they sieve recycled pulp to create new multi-coloured paper sheets.

BIBLIOIGLOO WORKSHOPS

Every day at the Biblioigloo children can take part in creative workshops, drawing inspiration from nature and the mountains, integrated with culture and art.

Together we create bunches of flowers that never wilt, whirligigs and butterflies that dance in time with the wind, and cuddly toy versions of the most popular Alpine animals.

MTB COURSES AT THE PAGANELLA ACADEMY

Bicycles are excellent companions for adventure, allowing us to travel far and explore the more hidden corners of the landscape.

The instructors of the Paganella Academy guide children to explore the forest, enjoying the sounds and fragrances together, while showing them how to visit nature safely and respectfully.

PLAYING WITH THE TRENTINO MUSEUMS

Every Thursday in summer in Paganella we host the most enjoyable educational activities from the Trentino museums, including, among many others, the bungling astronaut, a futuristic herbarium, imaginary animals, and prehistoric fables.
