BELVEDERE TERRACE
Nature's performance and you're in the front row
How can you resist a masterpiece like this? This is people's reaction to the Brenta Dolomites.
What is indisputable is the constantly changing charm emanating from these mountains and in particular those of the Brenta Group.
Fai della Paganella is a small town that is at the foot of the mountain of the same name. Strolling through the forests there are certain viewing points where you can enjoy wonderful vistas overlooking the Valle dell'Adige. One of these viewing points is Belvedere (beautiful sight), just its name gives us a big clue about what lies ahead!
It's not difficult to reach at all, it's a 20 minute walk in the forest which takes you to a scenic terrace that opens out over the Valle dell'Adige, Val di Cembra, Latemar and Catinaccio and Sella.
Where do we start?
From Piazza Italia Unita, take Via Belvedere, go past the sports arena and turn right along the Strada della Croce. From here, take the Via Paganella, which crosses the hill, then the Via Risorgimento and from there turn left and continue up to the marble quarries.
On the right there is the road that enters the pine wood, take it to reach Località Ori where you can find the small Church of Casa Serena.
Take the Belevedere Panorama Trail on the right, you'll skirt the edge of the Altopiano and from here you'll see what we promised you: amazing views of the Valle dell'Adige.
If you want to, you can continue along this trail which leads you to the Località Capannina.
The trail here is located in a sunny area with lots of benches where you can stop to read a book, relax, have a little break while letting yourself be won over by the valley below and by the landscape.
Continuing on through the forest you reach Località Plan de le Ass and the Doss Castel archaeological sites. The path through the beech forest on the right of the sites will take you to Località Valiard where there is a lovely small lake created in spring by the melting snow.
After crossing the valley, an untarmacked road will take you back to town in about 15 minutes. It is a fascinating trail which runs along cultivated fields of plants and trees, a natural sight well worth seeing.
