A SPLENDID LOCATION FOR RELAXING WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY

A close neighbour of Lake Molveno, Lake Nembia is small in size but big in looks. Nestled below the steep cliffs of Monte Ghez, it reflects the vivid colours of the rock walls in its crystalline waters, that glow like a precious emerald.
It is almost like a tropical reef pool where children can enjoy spotting the many fish, and play in or alongside its clear water. It is a perfect place for families with children, with the water remaining quite cool right through the summer. On the lakeside children can run around on the meadows or have fun in the cute play area, which even has a submarine where they can imagine being sailors in this very special place.

Lake Nembia is also a WWF nature reserve for its remarkable local habitat and the many animals that live nearby, including squirrels, red deer, roe deer, and some rare bird species like western ravens.

Walking around the lake you come to the Path for Young Walkers. It starts off between drystone walls and then wanders between some lovely old mountain farm houses, traditionally built up against the rocks for protection from the wind, and to save on building costs.
What to do at Lake Nembia with children? Here are a few suggestions!
1. Explore the surrounding woods on foot or bikes.
2. Free fun in the play areas.
3. A relaxing day in nature with a tasty picnic. There are various picnic areas with wooden tables and benches.
4. Take a refreshing swim in complete safety (in summer a lifeguard keeps constant watch over swimmers from the observation tower).
5. Go fishing inside the reserve, which requires a fishing permit.
6. Go rock climbing on a small crag close to the lake, offering 10 routes around 20 metres in height.
